Sleep Mode

When you're not going to use your computer for awhile, then a easy way to save money and stop pollution, is to put your computer in sleep mode. This will lower how much electricity you use daily, which will result in lower electricity bill and lower pollution levels. I find this a better alternative to shutting down your computer, because rebooting the computer takes longer then waking up your computer. So, before you go to sleep, put your computer in sleep mode, and keep on greening!

Quizzing for Trees

I've found another website that will help in our everlasting war on pollution and uncleanness! This website, called jogogreen plants one tree for every ten questions you answer correctly. Don't worry, they don't have to be answered correctly ten times in a row, just ten times before you leave the web page. Most of the questions have to do with the environment, so if you're really into saving the world, this should be simple for you. Plus, jogogreen is also working on making similar games that will help support the oceans and feed starving people throughout the world. Keep on greening!

Giving pure water to those in need

Ok, so I know that giving pure clean water doesn't help the enviroment directly, but this is still a important post. I have found a website that tests your geography skills by showing you a map of the world, and asking you to click on specific locations like "Mount Fujii in Japan" then, however close you are to the target, they will reward up to ten cups of clean water to kids in poor countries. Here is a link to the website: freepoverty and I won 124 cups of clean water in one single game of 5 minutes. Good luck and keep greening!

The Cause

I hate to say it, but Earth is dying. We're depleting Earth's oil deposits, we're destroying Earth's ozone layer, and we're killing off Earth's natural plants and animals. Soon, the beautiful Earth that is here today will be gone, replaced by a planet that can only support humans and maybe cockroaches. So, what do we do? Do we sit here and do nothing? Do we continue in our average lives, as if nothing is happening? Do we procrastinate what we have to do until it's too late? NO! We stand up and make the world a better place. You don't have to do anything drastic like chaining yourself to a tree, or go to the bathroom outside instead of using your toilet, but there are little things we can do to help keep our world green. Some examples are turning off the water when we're brushing our teeth, carpooling to work or to school, recycling your papers and bottles, and even just turning off the lights when you leave a room. So, what are we going to do now? Well, I for one, am off to save the world.
